ABOUT SB

SB is an Eastern Shore, Maryland based rapper who is a relatively new face in hip hop. Born in Easton, Maryland that is where he made himself known in the hip hop game and later he broadened throughout Maryland and other neighboring areas. SB, whose actual name is Shane Bell, was influenced by music at an incredibly young age; his mother constantly surrounded him with music and sang all the time and he took notice. His father had his own band so music is unquestionably apart of SB. With musical influences like Rakim, Jadakiss, Joe Budden, “early” 50 Cent SB has created his own unique style that is innovative and very much diverse. His word play is brilliant, with lines such as,

“I need counseling maybe even church could help/ Gave my Guns away so I wouldn’t hurt myself…” Dearly Departed SB

“Even though life is hard problems keep piling/ I treat it like its picture day, I just keep smiling…” Intro SB

The music comes naturally and it’s a hobby for SB. He enjoys it and works hard at perfecting his craft. Eventually his work would appear in numerous mixtapes such as “Da Cancer", and "SB 1138 MIXTAPE”, hosted by DJ Showtyme. Other projects SB has worked on are Janet & Ike’s Son (another solo album), Twin Barrel (MaryMille 1), We’re Back (MaryMille 2 Reloaded). He’s definitely a well-known artist in the DMV area and has collaborated with other artists in the area like Ray Chillz, Devon Beck, Suga Brown, Yung Klassik, Tay Mayor, Wicked Born, Sha’Nitty, Anonymous, and more. Whether he’ll admit it or not, hip hop is a career for SB- he is very consistent in releasing a mixtape every summer, working with other artists to keep his name out there, and writing- He’s currently writing for various R&B artists which he describes as being very challenging and rewarding at the same time. He’s now known on the East coast, in the Midwest (Milkwaukee), and the South- Texas and Atlanta.

He has a few promotional activities in the works and he also tries to reach out to his community. He participates in annual events such as Give Back Day in Easton, Maryland, 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, and more. He keeps his fans up to date with various social networking tools- his facebook music page, his blog, and music site. Thus far SB has released three solo albums, two project albums, and is currently working on his fourth album, which is expected to be released later this year- and they are all continuously buzzing. SB states the following about his current project,

It’s more like a self gratification CD. I had a set back in my life which made me take a more than long enough break from music, so this CD is mainly for me (as selfish as it sounds) I entitled it “No Feelings” because a lil homey of mine came up with the name and I felt like it fit perfect for what I was trying to do, second the name “No Feelings” in my opinion means to express all until there is nothing else to express hence leaving me with “No Feelings”, so anything I have on my mind that I’ve always wanted to say and haven’t, anything at all- it will be addressed and put out there, any subject. So it may seem a little everywhere (lol), but I think people will enjoy it.

If you ask him what’s his long term career goal he’d say, “To continue to put out good music, and hope that somebody listens.” Simple as that!
